Press release: Jeff Beck & Beth Hart’s show-stopping Kennedy Center Honors performance

You may have tuned into the recent 35th Annual Kennedy Center Honors to see the Led Zeppelin or David Letterman tributes, but the Beth Hart/Jeff Beck musical salute to blues legend Buddy Guy was the surprise show-stopping moment.  No one expected to be so blown away by an artist many had hardly or never heard of.  As the Baltimore Sun put it, “Everyone was on their feet when [Beck and Hart's] soul-searing performance ended.”

In a pre-telecast Q&A with Entertainment Weekly, Michael Stevens, the show’s producer, alerted readers to not miss the goose-bump-provoking performance:  “There’s a singer named Beth Hart…it’s like the Bettye LaVette moment that we had four years ago – someone relatively unknown coming out of nowhere and the house falling apart and giving her a standing ovation.”

Check out the must-see clip of Jeff Beck and Beth Hart performing “I’d Rather Go Blind” for Buddy Guy at the Kennedy Center Honors.

And take a look at the comments people made about the performance!  Youza!

Beth Hart’s new album, Bang Bang Boom Boom, will be released in North America on April 2, 2013. (Provogue Records/Mascot Label Group).  Produced by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Joe Bonamassa, Jimmy Page/The Black Crowes, Dream Theater), and backed up by an extraordinary group of musicians, Bang Bang Boom Boom features eleven stunning blues, rock, jazz and soul-influenced tracks, all written or co-written by Hart and recorded in 2012.
